Striving for Urban Traffic Optimization: Eclipse MOSAIC-Backed Predictive IoV Applications
摘要
In populated urban areas, the surge in traffic has led to congestion and safety concerns. This study employs the Eclipse MOSAIC co-simulation framework to explore the design of predictive Internet of Vehicles (IoV) applications, specifically aiming to improve traffic flow in commercial areas. Drawing on prior SUMO-based research conducted at a regional shopping center in Paris metropolitan area, the study introduces a vehicular communication layer featuring Cooperative Awareness Messages (CAM) and Decentralized Environmental Notification Messages (DENM) for safety applications. The research relies on data collection for initial analyses of both network and urban traffic flows.
