Increasing Energy Efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Investment Analysis of UNMO Rectorate Building
摘要
In the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the EU, it is necessary to harmonize the domestic energy regulations as soon as possible, and during this process gradually improve the energy performance of buildings and reduce energy consumption in buildings. Universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina should take on the role of education and research in this field in order to speed up the process. This work is part of that goal. Namely, for the case study of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar (UNMO) Rectorate building, built more than 120 years ago, after the reconstructions, electricity savings and an analogous reduction of pollutants are studied. Electricity consumption was reduced to 45.71 kWh/m2, which is only about 5.60%. CO2 emission was reduced for about 10%. The reduction rate is worryingly small, which can discourage investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
