Customized garment design relies on precise body measurements, often obtained through 3D scanning. In a time where inclusivity and health are paramount, ‘Unlocking Ergonomic Codes’ emerges as a crucial solution. This study examines the evolution of sizing systems, rooted in international standards, to accommodate diverse body types and health concerns. From clothing to furniture and transportation, we delve into the necessity of ergonomic knowledge and codes, envisioning a future where tailored comfort and health considerations become the norm. Additionally, a ‘Digital Body Library and Customer ID’ system is discussed, which manages body measurements and assigns unique customer IDs to ensure accuracy in measurements for safe and comfortable product design, as outlined in ISO 7250–1, a part of ergonomic standards.
