The previous chapter explores the potential of decision diagrams for deterministic noise-aware quantum circuit simulation using density matrices and Kraus operators. The evaluation showed that using decision diagrams for this task results in exponential speed-ups for one of the considered applications, compared to state-of-the-art solutions. However, at the same time, the industry-grade solutions still seem to perform better for most applications.
