Exploration of Wave Function Collapse Game Design Algorithm for Procedural Generation in Architecture
摘要
This article aims to describe the experience of exploring the wave function collapse (WFC) algorithm for generating room layouts in social housing projects, equivalent to the stage of a sketch, but with possibilities for connection with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools. The research applies a methodology that uses the interpretation of numerical matrices generated with WFC as representations of the relationships between BIM structural blocks in the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) format, seeking transit between the technical languages of architecture and the simplification encoded by integers. With the results of the experience, it is possible to generate floor plan layouts that meet the minimum requirements of the largest social housing program in Brazil.
