Size-Scale Problem for a Foldable Chain Scissors Structure
摘要
The scissor structure, formed by intersecting rods creating an X-shape, is capable of extending or folding efficiently when properly controlled. However, this deployable mechanism can face geometric instability or buckling under certain constraints. Its design, featuring each rod connected via pin joints, ensures flexibility and maximizes spatial efficiency. The scissor structure’s hallmark is its combination of flexibility and strength, offering stability against external forces while being adaptable in shape as required. This design is utilized in various applications, including space structures and lifts, with its size and materials specifically chosen for each purpose. Control mechanisms, whether mechanical or electronic, facilitate precise movements. Recent technological advancements have led to the development of lighter and more efficient scissor structures. This paper focuses on the analysis methods of scissor structural bodies, highlighting their design and functionality in modern engineering applications.
