摘要

This chapter delves into the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating Industry 5.0 and emerging technologies within the landscape of higher education to enhance employability skills. Employability remains a critical concern in the rapidly evolving job market, and the advent of Industry 5.0, characterized by the fusion of advanced technologies with human-centric processes, presents both challenges and opportunities for higher education institutions. Through a systematic literature review, this research investigates the current state of integration, identifies barriers, and explores strategies for leveraging Industry 5.0 and emerging technologies to bolster employability skills among higher education students. In recent years, higher education institutions have faced increasing pressure to produce graduates equipped with the skills and competencies demanded by Industry 5.0. However, the integration of emerging technologies into curricula poses several challenges, including resource constraints, faculty readiness, and resistance to change. This chapter critically examines these challenges and proposes innovative solutions to overcome them, such as faculty development programs, strategic partnerships with industry, and investment in infrastructure and technology. Moreover, the chapter highlights the transformative potential of Industry 5.0 and emerging technologies in enhancing employability skills among students. By leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things, higher education institutions can offer experiential learning opportunities, personalized learning experiences, and interdisciplinary collaboration, thereby preparing students for the dynamic demands of the future workforce. Additionally, the chapter explores the role of industry-academia collaboration in co-creating relevant curricula, providing real-world projects, and offering mentorship and internship opportunities to students. Overall, this research contributes to the discourse on the future of higher education across the globe, by providing insights into the challenges and opportunities of integrating Industry 5.0 and emerging technologies to enhance employability skills. It offers practical recommendations for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to navigate this transformative journey effectively and ensure the readiness of graduates across the globe for the digital economy.
