Insights into the Physical Internet: A Bibliometric Review

The study investigates the impact of the physical internet on the supply chain by examining various factors relating to publications. These factors include publication volume, authorship, country of origin, affiliated institutions, and relevant journals. By conducting a thorough analysis of bibliographical data obtained from Scopus, Springer Link, Web of Science, Science Direct and Google Scholar, the study identifies a marked increase in pertinent publications since 2010. Additionally, it unveils the luminaries in this field, in terms-of countries of origin, institutions, and influential journals. Furthermore, it delves into the examination of prevalent keywords used in search queries and the recurring themes in research endeavors. The citation analysis is geared towards pinpointing the standout authors and pivotal documents that hold substantial significance in this literature. The aim of this survey is to identify the main areas of interest by analyzing the co-citations between authors. Biased evaluations have been excluded, and the language used is objective and value neutral. Technical terms are explained when first used, and common academic sections have been included.
