Simulation-Based Analysis for the Improvement of Production Processes in the Dairy Industry

The utilization of Industry 4.0 technologies within production processes offers beneficial support for decision-making, encompassing the prudent allocation of resources and capital investment. Thus, the objective of this research is centered on proposing efficient and easily implementable outcomes based on discrete event simulation to enhance the performance of the yogurt production process in a dairy industry enterprise. The methodology used allows the application of stochastic simulation procedures using FlexSim software. The results of the experimentation indicate that augmenting labor and machinery capacity is suitable. Consequently, through our proposition, a production performance improvement of 11.20% can be achieved. These findings can be employed by entrepreneurs and researchers to be replicated across diverse industries or sector enterprises, with the advantage of bolstering production capabilities.
