Burnout Syndrome in the Healthcare Personnel of the Basic Hospital of Paute

This study aims to assess the prevalence of Burnout syndrome among healthcare personnel at Paute Basic Hospital. A cross-sectional survey was undertaken, encompassing 80 health professionals from the hospital. The MBI-HSS questionnaires were utilized to quantify Burnout and ascertain associated risk factors. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS statistical package, version 22. Odds ratios and Chi-square tests were employed for risk evaluation. Findings showed that \(83.8 \% \) of the participants reported high to severe levels of stress. Evaluation of risk factors identified age (with \(90.4 \%\) of individuals under 40 experiencing Burnout) as a significant sociodemographic determinant. Additionally, in the occupational context, poor team relationships ( \(96.2\%\) affected) and limited tenure in the organization ( \(97.3\%\) affected) emerged as pivotal contributors. In conclusion, a notably high prevalence of Burnout was observed among Paute Basic Hospital’s healthcare staff, chiefly attributed to inadequate team cohesion and inexperience.
