Smart and Semi-industrial Egg Incubator with Remote Monitoring Using LoRa Technology

摘要

Artificial incubators are extensively employed in the poultry industry to enhance production efficiency. Commercial incubators distinguish themselves primarily through their incubation success rates; however, they lack a remote monitoring system enabling continuous visualization of incubation parameters at the operator’s discretion. A semi-industrial intelligent incubator has been designed, structured into three stages: end node, gateway, and server. In the end node phase, control is exercised over temperature, humidity, \(C\text {O}_2\) concentration, and the tilt angle of the trays housing the eggs. The control system employs the Controllino PLC, which transmits incubation parameters to a LoRa transmission module. The gateway comprises two components: a LoRa receiving module and an ESP8666 module. The MQTT protocol was utilized for data transmission from the gateway to the server. A user interface was developed on the Grafana platform within the server, facilitating the visual display of incubation parameters. Alert messages are dispatched via Telegram in the presence of values falling outside the operational range within the incubator. Through the implementation of LoRa technology and the Internet of Things, the incubator seamlessly integrates into the poultry industry, aligning with the trends of Industry 4.0.
