摘要

The objective of this research is to determine the correlation between different scales during the learning-teaching process in the subject of statistics through the use of an application in the Scilab software. To achieve this objective, an application was developed that shows the development process of statistical operations. During the analysis, the descriptive method was applied through closed-response surveys with a Likert scale to 22 third-semester students of the Information Technology program at the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas Espe, Sede Santo Domingo. The survey questions were categorized into three scales: general knowledge (three questions), efficacy (four questions), and satisfaction (four questions), showing strong correlation values. Other results of the survey showed students’ interest in the use of the application developed in Scilab compared to the use of Excel or R. Finally, the stated objective was achieved since a robust linear correlation (0.94) was found between two of the three scales proposed.
