Logistics as a Science and the Formation of Logistic Thinking
摘要
Logistics has established as an applied scientific discipline. Important features are used to demonstrate why logistics can rightly call itself a science. Important questions of current research and academic education of logisticians are set up. Exemplary the common question and task of the formation of logistic thinking in the academic education is put in the core of discussion. In this context, the following five questions are briefly addressed and put up for scientific discussion: (1) Why can logistics be called a science? (2) What methodological knowledge is required for the typical research activities in logistics? (3) How can logistics objectives be quantified? (4) How can the specific logistics thinking models be described? (5) How can academic logistical thinking be externalized, taught and trained? The paper contributes to basic research in the science “Logistics”.
