It is an abnormal communication between the intrapericardial components of the ascending aorta and pulmonary trunk in the presence of two patent semilunar valves. It often occurs in isolation but can be associated with interruption of the aortic arch Type A and anomalous origin of a coronary arteryCoronary artery or right pulmonary artery. Surgical correction is indicated at diagnosis and long-term outcomes are excellent.
