Competitiveness of an Economic Entity (Cooperative) as a Determining Factor of Its Economic Security

Competitiveness of an economic entity in an unstable competitive environment is one of the main indicators of its success. It serves as an indicator of the superiority of the organization in the target segments over rivals in a given period. The research subjects are risk-forming and negative factors characteristic of the system of economic activity of the enterprise (cooperative), which leads to a decrease in its economic security and competitiveness. The research objective is to consider the enterprise’s economic security concept from the position of the criterion of competitiveness. The research used various scientific methods, including analysis, generalization, processing and interpretation of results, and system analysis. The research object is the state of economic security of an economic entity in the projection of competitiveness. The authors consider theoretical and methodological aspects of competitiveness. This category is a relative value expressed through two categories–efficiency and economic security. The object’s competitiveness is formed by the organization of its constituent elements and their competitiveness in achieving the goal. The conditions of fierce competition require the enterprise to be viable, which includes productivity growth and, accordingly, competitiveness, coverage of new markets, expansion of partnerships, and increase in investment attractiveness and the enterprise’s attractiveness.
