Role of Crop Production for Sustainable Agricultural Development

Resource provision of agriculture is a fundamental factor in the organization and activity of agricultural producers. The research considers the formation, structure, and improvement of the resource provision of agriculture and its integrated development. The authors assess the current level of development of the system of resource provision of agriculture in Russia and the saturation of the industry with material and technical resources. The authors analyzed the resource provision and fulfillment of target indicators for developing the production sector fixed in the State Program for Agricultural Development. Moreover, the authors formulated the primary vectors for improving state support of the crop production industry, justified by the functions and principles of state regulation of agriculture. The research aims to identify the directions of improving the resource provision of agriculture and their impact on the development of various branches of the agro-industrial complex. During the research, the authors applied economic, statistical, and general scientific methods, including analysis, synthesis, observation, comparison, generalization, systematization, abstract-logical method, monographic method, and analytical reports of scientific organizations and statistical materials. The research formulates the peculiarities of agricultural development, substantiates the need for state support of crop cultivation, and highlights the importance of selecting and applying tools that contribute to achieving a higher level of competitiveness of agricultural products. The authors analyze the development of crop production achievement of indicators of the food security doctrine. Priority directions for developing state support of the crop production industry are identified.
