Effect of Fertilization with Digestate on Crop Yields: A Review
摘要
The article presents the results of a study of the use of digestate as an organic fertilizer on crop yields. Nowadays, the use of digestate as a fertilizer is a promising concept in agriculture to increase crop yields. This publication focuses on analyzing recent research on the effects of digestate fertilization on crop quality and yield. It discusses how digestate is produced, methods of applying it as a fertilizer and its effects on plants. The increase in environmental pollution in recent years has had a tremendous impact on raising the issue related to sustainable agricultural practices and thus increasing the use of natural fertilizers. Digestate is a by-product obtained from the methane fermentation process, during the production of biogas. It contains in its composition irreplaceable nutrients necessary for plant growth and development. The article discusses various aspects related to fertilization techniques with digestate, such as its chemical composition, impacts on soil and plants. In addition, the results of scientific research related to the use of digestate as an alternative fertilizer source for field crops are presented. The conclusions that will be drawn from the review aim to provide a comprehensive view of the issue of fertilization with digestate and to identify the potential benefits and challenges of its use in agriculture.
