摘要

Nitrogen compounds dissolved in water are serious and still incessant problem for environmental protection. Therefore, because of the runoff of nitrogen compounds into surface water and their leaching into deep groundwater, the European Union Directive of 1991 concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources limits their use. The aim of the study was to analyse the content of nitrogen compounds (ammonium nitrogen, nitrates (III and V) in water samples from well as drilled deep wells and dug shallow wells. The research revealed that in 90% of the tested dug (household) wells and tap water, the nitrates (V) concentration limit was exceeded. In the case of nitrates (III), the permissible values for this parameter were not surpassed in either of the tested water samples. Ammonium nitrogen concentration exceeded the threshold level in a single water sample from a deep well. Water from drilled and dug wells is not regularly tested. It is therefore necessary to educate the public about the quality of drinking water, especially in the case of domestic wells. Owners of such water intakes should be aware of the importance of regular testing in this regard, especially when the water is consumed.
