A System for Precise Diagnosis of Diseases, Pests and Fertilization Needs in Horticultural Production

摘要

Management of modern horticultural production, in addition to possessing technical facilities, requires specialist knowledge and advanced IT tools to support this activity. Such software should enable production planning (including fertilization and chemical plant protection), ongoing crop supervision, prevention of adverse phenomena (e.g. pests threatening crops) and prediction of possible threats. Such solution is the FarmSmart system, provided by Agro Smart Lab, and de-veloped as part of the “Precision Horticulture” project in cooperation with the University of Agriculture in Krakow and the Agrosan Company. The system in-cludes many elements that are designed to support primarily horticultural crops. The software can also be used on agricultural farms and fruit farms. The system, based on meteorological stations located throughout the country, pest traps and pathogen development models, generates alerts on the occurrence of threats to crops in a given area. Other elements of the system are a field manager and specialized calculators de-signed to calculate the necessary fertilization and greenhouse gas emissions. The system has been implemented and made available to interested farmers. It is still being developed and enriched with new features.
