Resistance and Resilience

  • David Corbet

摘要

This chapter introduces diverse voices of decolonial resistance, including colonial-era Indigenous critique of European mores and values, and it revisits First Nations relationships to land and ‘country’. Following Chapter 1’s introduction of contemporary socio-political actions within and beyond the Museum, these themes are revisited and contextualised within discourses on the interrelationships between art and politics, and the emergence of progressive twentieth century counter-cultural movements globally, examining their manifestations in artistic and curatorial practices. The chapter concludes with a reflection on the influential visual legacies of resistance and protest movements worldwide.
