摘要

This work designs a mobile application to assist breast cancer survivors in managing their follow-up care. Breast cancer survivors encounter the challenge of tracking their follow-up appointments, which provide medical and psychological support post-treatment. While existing digital solutions document and track follow-up care, they primarily target professionals and care providers. To the best of our knowledge, no digital solution currently caters to patient use. Our primary objective is to facilitate follow-up care and motivate breast cancer patients to continue their treatment. We design a mobile application that generates a personalized follow-up care plan based on the latest literature. Patients can schedule follow-up appointments, document and share complaints, and track lifestyle habits and interventions. Push notifications remind patients of upcoming appointments, ensuring adherence to the follow-up plan. Furthermore, user data collected in the long term serve as reliable information for forecasting optimal follow-up care plans for future breast cancer survivors. Considering the application’s target audience of non-professionals with limited medical knowledge, we employ simple questions instead of medical terms. The application features user-friendly elements like checkboxes and drop-down menus, offering a simple and intuitive patient experience. We conducted two semi-structured independent interviews with medical oncologists to evaluate usability and gather suggestions. The interviews encompassed an overview of the application, its benefits for breast cancer survivors, and sought feedback on user information.
