The Effect of the Particle Size on the Optical Properties of Nano TiO2 Coatings
摘要
This study focuses on TiO2 coatings, an essential material in optical applications, investigating various optical properties such as refractive index, energy gap, and reflectivity for Nano TiO2 coatings. The findings highlight the significant influence of particle size on these properties, especially when the radius approaches or falls below the Exciton Bohr radius. Smaller particle sizes are associated with decreased refractive index and increased energy gap, leading to TiO2 exhibiting transparency to electromagnetic radiation. Conversely, larger grain sizes result in greater reflectivity, with reflectance reaching approximately 20% for grain sizes around 40 nm.
