Anterior and Posterior Abdominal Wall Blocks

Some abdominal wall blocks could be combined with thoracic wall blocks, or used alone as analgesia strategy after cardiac procedures: ilioinguinal and iliohypogastric block could be considered a valid and safe analgesic alternative to sedation during transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI); rectus sheath block is a fundamental part of loco regional analgesia applied after open heart surgery due to drainage presences. In this chapter we would described all abdominal wall block, focus particularly in that used in cardiac and major vascular procedure.
