TAVI
摘要
Aortic valve disease (AVD) is prevalent among elderly patients. Initially introduced in 2002 for patients with prohibitive surgical risk, transcatheter aortic valve implant (TAVI) has since been validated for high- and intermediate-risk patients, increasingly overcoming surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) with favorable outcomes. Despite being minimally invasive and lower risk than surgical approaches, TAVI requires careful patient selection and proper in-hospital management. To face the rising number of procedures and to improve their outcomes in terms of safety, adverse event occurrence, and length of hospitalization, protocols that aim to improve the peri-procedural course are desirable. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of TAVI management, from planning to follow-up, within an ERAS (enhanced recovery after surgery) framework and introduces a fast-track TAVI protocol.
