China-Russia Economic and Trade Cooperation Within the BRICS: 2019–2022

The pandemic outbreak, at the end of 2019, led to a series of overlapping crises. With the unpredictable international situation, the economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia in BRICS has become crucial in implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination between the two countries. This chapter assesses the Sino-Russian economic and trade cooperation from 2019 to 2022, examining trends and developments in trade, investment, finance, and technological innovation. It highlights both achievements and challenges, while also assessing opportunities and potential future trajectories for this collaboration in the context of the evolving global environment.
