摘要
The chapter addresses the interaction between geopolitics and international tourism at the macroregional and country levels. It proposes scientific approaches and research methods for studying international tourism in the context of changing geopolitical situations worldwide. The chapter demonstrates that geopolitical and epidemiological situations play a key role in creating challenges and risks in international tourism. It elaborates on the concept of hard and soft power in shaping the trends of international tourism development and provides relevant examples. Using several countries with different political statuses as examples, it traces the dynamics of the tourism industry’s development in response to geopolitical and epidemiological events. Special attention is given to the development of medical and health tourism in the context of modern geopolitical risks and challenges. The chapter concludes that this specific type of tourism has become a significant factor in the cultural and economic exchange between countries, contributing to deeper mutual understanding and cooperation on the global stage. When making managerial decisions in the field of international relations, the close connection between geopolitics and international tourism should be taken into account.
