The research aims to study delays in government construction projects in Jordan. The study was conducted using a quantitative method and a data collection tool through a questionnaire on the study sample, which represented contractors, consultants, and owners in Jordanian construction companies, totaling 250 participants. The study concluded that the reasons for delay varied: for owners, it was primarily the financial situation of the contractor, improper project planning by the contractor, and government delay in making payments. For consultants, the main factors were improper project planning by the contractor, the financial situation of the contractor, and delays in government decision-making. Contractors identified the government’s delay in payments, delays in government decision-making, and their own financial situations as significant factors. Delays often result in cost overruns and conflicts, with communication being the most common and successful means of resolving delays.
