Ethical Leadership in Education Systems

In this introductory chapter, we explain why we believe that considering ethical leadership as it is framed and practiced in various educational systems in Canada, the United States, Germany, and Finland is important. And, we describe the structure of the book. We also provide an overview of key concepts in ethical leadership as they apply to current educational systems, considering historical perspectives and key authors in educational leadership literature—in particular, instructional leadership.
