Identification of Helmet Rule Violators Using Convolutional Neural Network

摘要

This research project is a comprehensive effort aimed at addressing the persistent challenge of helmet non-compliance among motorcycle riders in India. This issue has emerged as a significant factor contributing to road accidents, imposing a substantial burden on the already stretched healthcare system. Despite previous endeavors to improve compliance, helmet negligence continues to be a pressing concern. In response to this ongoing problem, our proposal entails the development of an innovative Smart Helmet Detection System. This system leverages cutting-edge technologies, including computer vision and machine learning, to automate the identification of individuals who flout helmet-wearing regulations. By doing so, it seeks to not only enhance road safety but also alleviate the need for a high presence of on-road enforcement officers and reduce the generation of repetitive data. The introduction of our Smart Helmet Detection System represents a pivotal step forward in the pursuit of safer Indian roads. It is a transformative approach that not only safeguards the lives of motorcycle riders and pedestrians but also optimizes the allocation of valuable traffic regulatory resources, redirecting them towards more critical and high-impact projects that benefit the nation's overall road safety landscape.
