Research Question: Socio-Ecological Use of the City-Sea Interface in the Euro-Mediterranean Context
摘要
The objective of the work is to analyse the regeneration process of city-sea interfaces by investigating the neuralgic elements and communities inhabiting them. The main research question addresses how to support urban planning in enhancing existing or potential coastal public spaces for socio-recreational and environmental benefits. Thus, it is proposed a methodological framework to analyse legal, geomorphological, and psycho-social aspects of city-sea interfaces. The major target are large coastal cities, in particular along the Euro-Mediterranean sea, due to the presence of complex challenges, stakes and relevant socio-demographic variations that urban planning must consider for improving the overall littoral quality.
