Urban Coastal Society and Its Relationship with the Sea
摘要
The functional relationship between the urban littoral of large contemporary cities and their inhabitants defines the urban coastal society, which is intimately linked to the area directly connected to the sea and to the coastal water itself. As the urban littoral and the urban coastal society mutually readjust themselves to environmental and social coastal issues, the city-sea interface can be described as an urban amphibious that serves as a hub for socio-economic and environmental services. In this context, littoral awareness becomes central to more efficient planning that takes into account the expectations of the community.
