Leading Digital Transformation in Higher Education

Digital transformation is not just about deploying technology, but rather, it is about transforming an organization by using technology as a catalyst. This chapter builds on my personal experience to illustrate some of the elements of digital transformation and its impact on organizations. This highlights the special aspects of academic institutions, and how these characteristics impact leading the implementation of digital transformation at these organizations. The chapter ends with a case study illustrating how these different techniques were successfully utilized to accomplish digital transformation at the American University of Beirut.
