摘要

There is a growing concern over the scalability of remote laboratories for multiple users, and within such a framework, there are various approaches that sustain a multi-institutional collaboration. This chapter proposes a study of the CONFEDI R-Lab Network, Argentina first inter-university cooperation project, designed to enhance engineering education and professional training. The first thing we did was to reconstruct the case through documentary sources, reviewing project-related publications and recording meetings. We also made a comparative analysis, based on four articles, to identify differences, similarities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses. Three years after the project was launched, 91 new remote laboratories have been established, spanning 26 thematic areas. Still, more relevant than figures, is the fact that CONFEDI R-Lab has spread knowledge and has fostered an exchange of ideas among institutional team members. Of course, there are some challenges to be faced: how to integrate the laboratories into the curriculum to enhance STEM education, and how to grant their long-term availability, support, and security within the institutional network infrastructure.
