The Project OnLabEdu—Online Laboratories for Schools

Online labs are now being used more and more frequently and in an increasingly wide range of contexts. Applications at universities are already widespread; therefore, the OnLabEdu project at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences is taking the approach of establishing online labs in schools. The project is scheduled to run for four years and is funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency. The Carinthia University of Applied Sciences is spearheading the project, receiving didactic support in the realm of science education from the University College of Teacher Education Styria. In each of the four project years, at least three laboratories or laboratory exercises will be developed that are available remotely for pupils and students. Parallel to these developments, the completed labs will be tested and prepared for classroom usage. Learning arrangements will be developed and made available to teachers for training purposes.
