Multi-user Remote Access Hardware Labs for Wireless and Electronics Undergraduate Courses
摘要
In response to the need for Distance Learning outreach programs an existing hands-on Wireless experiment platform (TIMS-301) was enhanced to enable multiple student access, simultaneously, so as to make the laboratory session available 24/7 for students who cannot access the hands-on labs due to travel or time limitations. This resulted in three platforms: netTIMS, netCIRCUITlabs and FREEWIRE, for teaching wireless, signals and systems, analog and digital electronics and electric circuit theory. These systems have been commercially deployed in over 50 university campuses worldwide and have been used by thousands of students over the last 20 years. This chapter discusses the evolution and implementation of these platforms in response to user demand over the years.
