Supporting Regional Transformation Through an Organizational Educational Network Consulting Approach: An Empirical Example Regarding the Implementation of a Regional Circular Economy

Regional circular economies represent a sustainable alternative to linear economic models and can increase self-sufficiency and value creation, especially in structurally weak regions. However, the establishment of such economic models is complex. Regional networks and cooperations are essential for establishing circular economic structures at the local level. Regional transformation processes and the sustainable development of circular economies are often approached from a business, economic, geographic, and sometimes legal and social science perspective. Educational perspectives, particularly organizational educational perspectives, are often missing. This chapter discusses the potential of organizational educational network consulting in establishing sustainable circular economies, starting from the typical problems of network governance. The article presents an already piloted approach of regional network consulting as an empirical case analysis. This demonstrates how the establishment of a regional circular economy can be designed through network development. By conducting a qualitative analysis that incorporates metaphors and images, the chapter explores how organizational educational interventions can effectively address and resolve the typical problems associated with regional network management.
