How Early Career Instructors Benefit from Collaborative Course Design
摘要
Approaches such as collaborative course design (CCD) solicit student input on course assessments, policies, or content. Understandably, early career instructors (ECIs) may be wary to engage in pedagogical approaches that leave room for increased student agency. Despite the understandable concerns about increasing student agency in the classroom, this chapter demonstrates how these concerns can be addressed to make room for increased student engagement and efficiency for ECIs. In this chapter, I will discuss my own approach to manage the CCD early in the term and how this process can help ECIs.
