The Environment, Films and Myself
摘要
Discovering that what could be perceived on the tape did not correspond to what was perceived on the screen (a hole where there is nothing cannot normally become a line), this led me to compose films frame by frame in the camera while shooting. The Bolex cameras I use have many possibilities. As long as you have a way of immediately noting the recorded images, the technical means of the Bolex make it possible to film images at different places on a roll of film in a given place and at a given time, and then to go back and film in another place the parts of the roll that are not yet exposed. The implications of the techniques of filming-editing in camera associated with my attention to the natural environment, close or sometimes far from where I live, the Vaucluse, are exposed here in my films Roulement, rouerie, aubage (1978), Voiliers et coquelicots (2001), Jardin du sel (2011), and Tartarughe d’Acqua (2016).
