摘要

This paper explores the intersection of senior tourism, quality of life, and AI-driven destination personalisation amidst China's demographic shifts. Decades of family planning policies have rapidly aged China's population, altering traditional family structures and caregiving dynamics for the elderly. The challenges magnified by urbanization, the one-child policy, and uneven economic development have further underscored the plight of seniors in ‘empty-nest families’, revealing the pressing imperative to tackle aging-related issues, a domain where AI and big data technologies can play a transformative role. The paper emphasises aims to address these issues by identifying the impact of AI and big data in senior tourism, proposing personalised travel experiences tailored to the evolving needs and preferences of older travelers. By doing so, we will develop a senior tourism model that can replace traditional models as more travel agencies adopt AI. Ultimately, this conceptual paper aims to present a novel theoretical framework that seeks to enhance the quality of life for seniors, offering them fulfilling and accessible travel experience.
