A RFID Online Sensing Tag for Electric Power Materials

A RFID online sensing tag for power materials is proposed in this article. The tag is an active device that can accurately track the location, record information, and monitor the status of power materials. It integrates control, RFID, BLE, communication, positioning and multiple sensing modules/units but only consumes a power of 66 μA at 3.3 V. In view of the complex communication environment on the power site, an anti-metal antenna is designed, which can effectively improve the reading distance of the tag to be 8 m. Experiments were carried out to demonstrate the performance of the proposed tag. This design allows for the management and monitoring of power materials throughout its entire life-cycle, including procurement and construction, operation and maintenance, retirement, and scrapping.
