The idea of the university is a philosophical problem acquired and analyzed by classical German philosophy in the nineteenth century. This problem, which developed together with the political problems of the Prussian State and the ideals of the Romantic Period, occupied many thinkers and writers and continued to be a subject in the academic life of the twentieth century. This issue, which has developed together with politics since its emergence, has both philosophical (theoretical) and political (practical) aspects. In the following text, the philosophical foundations of the idea of the university will first be expressed, and then this problem will be compared with the idea of transdiscipline, which was added to it as a new dimension in the twentieth century.
