Research Related to an Optimized Design of a Simple Potentiometric Method for Real-Time Monitoring and Detecting the Human Physiological Posture
摘要
The paper presents the design based for an improved of a method for detecting the changes in the posture of the human body, to be used within a complex mechatronic project that will warn, in real time, the user about his postural changes (the change of his posture), in relation to a predetermined posture considered standard. In fact, it is the application of an original mechatronic system concept intended to be used in the field of performance training of athletes for real-time monitoring and active postural self-correction, and it is based on a resultant mechanical force that moves the cursor of a linear potentiometer. An optimal and inexpensive method of transforming the displacement signal into the variation of an electrical voltage is presented, compared to the classical solution that uses a potentiometer as a displacement sensor in a classical voltage divider configuration. The proposed solution ensures the linear transfer function of the potentiometric sensor simultaneously with an adjustable sensitivity according to the application requirements. It is an optimal design for our project, but we believe that it can be used in a wide range of applications.
