Whilst, following Brexit, the UK negotiated with the EU, and later ratified, a Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA), it seemed at times that the word ‘Agreement’ was being forgotten, with draft British Bills reneging on the binding commitments taken; that the word ‘Cooperation’ could be better replaced by ‘Conflict’ with some thundering declarations at the highest level of the UK Government; and that ‘Trade’ was finally not so important, not to say sacrificed (at least in the short term) on the altar of politics, with leading Brexiters claiming it never was about the economy. This time is past. A change of leaders within the UK has already moved the relationship from being acrimonious to being respectful, with the Windsor Framework being agreed in 2023 and subsequent progress made (such as the UK rejoining Horizon Europe). This is probably just the beginning.

摘要
