Conclusion
摘要
A fully digital, self-sufficient, wireless sensor node that can be completely embedded into a highly challenging host material has been presented. It can wirelessly transmit Lamb wave sensor data out of the laminate by using a laminate-structured antenna. The design process of both electronic sensor node and antenna is described in detail covering every design requirement identified at the beginning. Even though wireless communication using the outer metal layer as an antenna for HF-RFID communication in close proximity to conductive carbon fibers is a challenging approach, it can be concluded, that the developed self-sufficient, wireless sensor node presented in this work is fully capable to pick up sensor data of Lamb wave measurements directly at the location of event and to transmit it out of the laminate with a sufficient resolution for damage diagnostic purposes. This provides the clear advantage of eliminating the need for connectors and long wired connections to sensors distributed over the whole monitored structure, e.g., an airplane, thereby saving weight, and costs and preventing possible electrical cross-talk problems during measurements from the start.
