Surgical Hip Dislocation in the Treatment of Acetabular Fractures

Surgical hip dislocation (see Chap. 7 ) allows the full exposure of the femoral head and acetabulum to achieve anatomic restoration of the acetabular joint surface while ensuring extra-articular fixation in the treatment of select the transverse or posterior column acetabular fractures with or without involvement of the posterior wall.
