Case Study 5: Guyana
摘要
This is the last of five chapters that analyze the interviews conducted with business and political leaders in selected countries. In this chapter interviews with leaders in Guyana are examined. The chapter begins with background information on the country’s history, economy, people, and environment. This is followed by the identification and discussion of themes on sustainability that permeate the interviews. Themes that surfaced in the interviews with Guyanese leaders were long-term profitability, sustainability as a responsibility, adapting to change, employment equity and fairness, free education providing opportunities, politics and local culture, income inequity, private sector taking action, culture of locals as lacking environmental consciousness, and government taking action.
