Sustainable Development Goals

As 2030 draws closer there is increased interest in the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. These 17 goals were adopted by member states of the UN in 2015 with the hope of achieving them by 2030. This chapter provides an overview of the 17 goals that are related to the pressing social, economic, and environmental issues together with an assessment of them being achieved by the deadline. At this point, it appears as if most of these minimum sustainability targets will not be met.
