Approaches to the Complexity of Virtual Commissioning from the Perspective of Target Requirements

Today, virtual commissioning is a common engineering tool and a part of the design process of machines and production systems. Although virtual commissioning has become very common in these processes, it still faces many obstacles. The time and effort required to develop a suitable simulation model, its structure, and the structure of the libraries of these models is the most significant obstacle to standardizing virtual commissioning tasks. To investigate the quality and scope of behavioral models, it is necessary to understand the limits of Model/Hardware/Software in loop virtual commissioning methods using tests with simple, off-the-shelf behavioral models that are not part of commercial or standard production sys-system vendor books. This paper presents the implementation of a virtual commissioning pre-operational simulation study with multiple robotic arms and its subsystems with PLC overhead control. The main objective of this paper is to search for the limits of the software in the loop method as a stage before maximal concrete virtual commissioning using real control systems coupled with simulation working with feedback of simple functional models of behavior.
