摘要
Haptic technology has become synonymous with gaming. From consoles to gloves, vests, and chairs, haptics provides feedback that elevates immersion and engagement. This chapter explores the world of haptics in gaming and entertainment, from rudimentary rumble features to cutting-edge force feedback systems. It examines various haptic applications, including training and learning tasks, motor rehabilitation, entertainment, and gaming for visually impaired users. Additionally, the chapter reviews the different types of haptic feedback, such as vibration, force, wind, and thermal feedback, and their integration into gaming peripherals and virtual reality (VR) devices. The chapter also examines other aspects, such as control and feedback, the weight simulation of virtual objects, emotional response, accessibility, and cinematic experiences.
