Embodied Orientation
摘要
The relationship between young children and their developmental environment has been widely discussed within psychology. Understanding children as intentional, acting subjects requires a theoretical framework that acknowledges their agency within everyday life contexts. This entry draws on psychology from the standpoint of the subject, which conceptualizes the relationship between subject and the world as dialectical and highlights the subject’s reasoned and intentional actions. Embodied orientation is a valuable concept for analyzing how individuals participate agentically in their everyday lives, emphasizing how this process is always inherently embodied. Embodied orientation helps in refining the conceptual understanding of subjective reasons for action and how to explore these reasons by engaging in intersubjective dialogues.
